Origin:
Tasakina comes from the mountainous Ermera region of Timor-Leste, typically grown around 1700–1900m altitude in volcanic soils. The area produces some of the country’s highest-quality coffees.
Timor-Leste coffee is traditionally organic — most farms are smallholder plots cultivated without heavy chemical use and processed locally by community cooperatives.
After hand-picking, cherries are wet-processed (washed): pulped, fermented, washed and then sun-dried before milling. This method produces a cleaner cup with balanced body and moderate acidity.
Many Timorese coffees descend from the famous Hibrido de Timor plant — a natural Arabica/Robusta hybrid — giving both sweetness and body while remaining hardy at high altitude.
The result is a coffee known for chocolate-leaning sweetness, soft fruit character and a smooth, approachable profile suited to everyday drinking.
